Service Description
Course Description: This course invites students to study Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and selections from The Blue Fairy Book, a classic collection of traditional fairy tales by Andrew Lang. Students will focus on character, virtue, and the moral lessons embedded in story, examining how courage, loyalty, prudence, greed, and perseverance shape human action. Through careful reading, annotation, socratic discussions and structured written responses, students cultivate reasoning, judgement, and the skill of expressing insights with clarity, laying the foundation for eloquence and deeper understanding in the study of classical literature. They must be able to work independently and be eager to participate in class discussions.
